Andy Reid

Andy Reid is one of the most respected and successful coaches in recent NFL history.  Under his direction, the Philadelphia Eagles have become one of the elite and most consistent teams in the league.  Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy sums up Coach Reid’s success this way, “What Andy Reid has done is remarkable.  It doesn’t concern him who gets the credit.  He’s not concerned with puffery.  His teams are sound fundamentally.  I admire the man.”

Also worthy of admiration are Andy Reid’s accomplishments:

  • NFL Coach of the Year, 2000
  • Repeat winner:  NFL Coach of the Year, 2002
  • Highest win total and winning percentage of any coach in Eagles history
  • Tied for 11th in NFL history with 10 play-off wins
  • Became only the 37th coach in NFL history to record 100 wins (22nd coach to win 100 games with one franchise)
  • Third in the league in overall victories since 2000 with 102 wins
  • Been to the play-offs in 13 of the 17 years he has been in the NFL

Known for his vision, dedication, passion, and organizational skills, Reid has experienced success throughout his football career, both as a player at Brigham Young University and as a coach in the NFL.  Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie is one of many throughout the league who speaks highly of his coach, “Disciplined.  Prepared.  Smart.  He’s an awfully good combination.  Andy has intellectual capital.  He has no ego.  To him, it’s all about building team community.  He’s comfortable with himself.  He’s not paranoid, worried about what others think or report.  He’s genuine and people follow that.”

Coach Reid and his wife, Tammy, have five children.  Tammy pays her husband the ultimate compliment, “What attracted me to him more than anything was his character. He's just a really good guy, very honorable and very conscientious."
